Ever since the beginning of government in the United States, there have been over 40 presidents. Although all have had an important role in the nation, some have stood out more than others. Some, for example, have had buildings named after them. One of the most famous buildings to help us remember world war II is the one named after the 41st president. Of course, that person is George H. Bush.
The WWII Museum is recognized as the National World War II Museum by Congress. The Museum opened in the year 2000. The museum, as the Chairman of the museum puts it, "pays tribute to an individual who epitomizes the core values that strengthen America’s freedom and democracy...we honor the life and service of President Bush." Although this museum was dedicated to the 41st president, George H. Bush, this museum was also dedicated to all the World War II soldiers that fought for their country.
George Bush's father was one of the youngest naval aviators of his time. He was three days short of his birthday when he went to Corpus Christi. The WWII Museum is not only recognized as the National WWII Museum, but is also #1 in USA Today's "Best Places to Learn U.S. Military History." The Museum has a very special award that hasn't been handed out more than five times. One of this awards went to our 41st president. It is the American Spirit Award, given to The Museum President and Chairman along with the former Secretary of Commerce. In conclusion, the WWII Museum is, as told by USA Today, "the best place to learn U.S. Military history."
