San Antonio Oprah Fans

Many of the Spurs fans are true and faithful. Take Will and Gloria Drash, who have been attending the Spurs games for 14 years. Recently they won, at auction, the Spurs Playoff Road Trip. The two got to accompany the team to some of the games. The money they won went to the Spurs Foundation that helps kids go to games and other activities.

For the 12 years, Tim Duncan has played for with the Spurs and has won the nomination for one the All-Star defensive team. No other player had won the nomination 12 years in a row. He did, however, hold the honor with Kareem Abdul Jabar for the previous number 11. The defensive teams this year include Orlando's Dwight Howard, the Lakers' Kobe Bryant, Cleveland's Labron James, New Orleans's Chris Paul and Boston’s Kevin Garnett. The second team includes Duncan, Miami's Dwayne Wade, Boston's Rujon Rondo and Houston's twosome of Shane Battier and Ron Artest. The defensive teams are selected by the voting of the 30 NBA coaches and are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Due to some injuries of Spur players, the Spurs lost their game with the Mavericks even though Tim Duncan and Tony Parker scored 56 of the 93 points, but the Mavs outscored them with 106 points. This loss sent Duncan and Parker where they had never been before: A first round elimination at game 5. The 2008-2009 season found them with a 54-28 record. Manu Genobili was on the injured list the first half of the season or they may have had 60. But the 54 games was the worst season since the 1999-2000 season. Parker and Duncan just didn't get enough help.
