San Antonio, Texas

San Antonio is one of the most famous places to visit in the United States. Millions of tourists and visitors walk through its streets every year to see the beautiful sites and sounds. The River Walk and the Guadalupe River are its main attractions.

As the second largest city in Texas, it is also famous for the Alamo, Tejano culture, and home to the Sea World San Antonio. It also has a Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme park, which is visited by approximately 26 million tourists every year according to the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau. The first museum of modern art in Texas was built in San Antonio.

San Antonio is cemented into American history with its rally cry “Remember the Alamo,” and making it perhaps the most famous spot in all of Texas. After nearly 170 years since the Texas Revolution, what was once a sleepy crossroad discovery by missionaries, has now grown to be the eighth largest city in the Untied States.

Fiesta San Antonio is a celebration that is in memory of its history and culture. Fiesta lasts for 10 days and originally meant to honor the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto. The Fiesta draws 3.5 million people every year and has more than 100 events in April. It all started in 1891 when a group of women paraded in front of the Alamo in decorated horse-drawn carriages and threw flowers at each other. Carrying on what these women started, today the Fiesta has what is called the fiesta’s Battle of Flowers parade and is one of the nation’s largest, second only to the Tournament of Roses.
