San Antonio Cuisine

Everything is larger than life in Texas, or so it has been said; therefore, you’d expect Texas restaurants to reflect this axiom and they do. In San Antonio, Texas, you’ll find some great eating places with truly outstanding cuisine. Talk about larger than life, the Tower of the Americas building stands 750 feet tall and at its summit is the Chart House Restaurant. Here, residents and tourists may dine elegantly in a revolving atmosphere, from which is a captivating view of the entire city. On the menu, you’ll find succulent steaks, prime rib, seafood and decadent desserts.

You can enjoy Mexican Continental cuisine at Paloma Riverwalk restaurant, located just a block from the Alamo in downtown San Antonio. The Iron Cactus, located across from La Mancion Hotel serves Mexican fare as well, but blends it with the chef’s own “unique and flavorful dishes.” The Iron Cactus’ menu features over 80 varieties of Mexican tequila, for which it is renowned all over the world. Madhatters Tea House & Café is within walking distance of the Riverwalk and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu contains an assortment of cuisine, such as you’d find in most family-oriented restaurants.

Boudro’s restaurant is located on the Riverwalk and is calls itself a Texas bistro. Here you’ll find contemporary cuisine, such as a variety of sandwiches, including the famous Boudro’s burger, featured on the lunch menu. The dinner menu includes fresh seafood, such as their wood grilled Atlantic salmon, mesquite grilled Texas quail, papaya-marinated Black Angus flank steak and prime rib. The quail is stuffed with wild mushrooms, roasted corn, dried apricot, apples and poblanos. San Antonio has something for everyone’s taste, including Indian food from the India Palace.
