Irving, Texas is home to the famous Texas Stadium. This stadium is the previous home of the Dallas Cowboys. It first opened in October of 1971. It cost 35 million dollars to build and seats over 65,000 sports fans. This stadium recently closed in December of last year in order to prepare for its demolition. The new stadium for the Dallas Cowboys has already underwent construction and is scheduled to open in 2009. This new stadium is located in Arlington, Texas.

The Alamodome is another sports stadium that can be found in Texas. It is located in the city of San Antonio. This stadium opened its doors in 1993 and seats as many as 65,000 people. The Alamodome has artificial turf and is used for professional football and soccer games.
