Patrick Swayze

To be considered a Texan you must be born there and proud to be from there. Patrick Swayze was born in Houston, Texas in 1954. This makes him a native Houstonian. They say that Texas is like one big family and when one of their own is hurting, they all hurt.

Texas is known for everything being bigger and better than anywhere else. Texas is a proud state and they show how proud they are of their native Texan celebrities with their own hall of fame for actors and actresses. Patrick Swayze is in the Texas Best Actor Hall of Fame, he is joined by only one other actor and that is Larry Hagman. Patrick Swayze is loved and honored by the state of Texas.

When he was diagnosed with his Pancreatic cancer, the amount of love he felt from his home state and from all his fans around the world was overwhelming. Just like the state of Texas, Swayze never gives up either. He has battled alcoholism and dealt with the death of a sibling. Through his treatments and bouts of fatigue, he still is working on a new series for cable. If the pilot gets good enough reviews then the cable company may pick it up as a series. Swayze also has many new and good things going on in his life. He is writing a book, has a new puppy and is starting a new cancer treatment.
