San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are currently at a record of 43 wins and 20 losses for the 2009 NBA season. They are sitting in a very good position in the Western Conference and will be looking to get within the top three seeds for the playoffs. The Spurs have been a very dominant team in the past decade, winning numerous NBA Championships. They will be looking to add another one to their banner this season, too. So what makes the Spurs such a good team? What makes them better than other NBA teams out there?

The Spurs feature many veteran players who have played the game for a long time and who have a lot of experience. Along with the veterans, they also have very promising young athletes who bring explosiveness and athleticism to the Spurs lineup. They are coached by one of the greats in Greg Popovich, who has lead the Spurs to winning season after winning season consistently. The three biggest stars on the Spurs include Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. WHen all three are playing together on the floor at once, it makes it very hard for other teams to stop them.

Duncan is one of the best big men in the NBA and is averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds per game so far this season. Tony Parker has established himself as one of the premier point guards in the league and averages 21 points and seven assists for the season. Finally, Manu Ginobili is an all-around player who can drive, shoot, and play tough defense. Ginobili is currently averaging 16 points per game this season.
